Lowering 2003 e320

Hey this is my first post..i have been looking around but im still a bit confused. I figured i would just ask. I have an 03 E320 without airmatic. I plan to put bigger wheels (19 or 20s) and also plan to lower it. Now i really dont know what my options are...if some one could help me out that would be great..im assuming springs would the way but dont know which ones..and do i need anything besides the springs? I read something about some shims? Also how difficult is the job...i did it on my audi and mustang but never touched the mercedes. Any help would be appreciated.

you have lots of options. you can get a digital lowering module that costs $1000 and up or you can buy lowering springs which cost around $300. On my car, I put H&R springs with 20" wheels. Ride does not look slammed, it's not too rough, and only rubs when the steering wheel is turned all the way.

You must have the airmatic suspension to use a lowering module. He states that he does not have that.

Your only option is springs. check out

H&R Springs or Eibach Springs...

From what I understand Eibach will not be as aggressive as the H&R's.

I have Eibach shocks they ride smooth and with 20 inch wheels you have about a half inch gap. So if your getting 19 inch wheels get H&R springs, I heard they drop the car lower but not sure how they ride. As for the shims you should use the smallest one possible. I believe they are 5 millimeters. The only problem I had was with my new front shocks was that they were set at the highest adjustment and they looked like it never dropped the car so I brought it back and they adjusted them to the lowest setting and the car looks and drives great.
