Interior Wood Trim

Hey guys hows it going?

I need your help please, after doing some research throughout the internet and on this site I couldn't find any info on where to purchase interior wood trim.

As of right now I have the Maple finish but really want to replace all the wood trim pieces to Black Birds finish (I think is the name of it). If somebody can please help me and direct me somewhere, so that I can possibly purchase these pieces. And if any you guys have an idea on price that be great!!

Thanks for your help

-Kam

Yeah, same for me. I recently purchased a 2004 E500 and do not like the interior trim at all. It is the Burl Walnut finish and the only reason I bought this car was cause of the good mileage and exterior color. But didnt think it be a problem to change the trim to the Black Birdeye Maple

But any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have asked several people who own M- B , Rover and Lexus automobiles the following question:
I really like the appearance of the wood trim in your car. What kind of wood is it?

Universal answer: I don't think it is real, probably plastic.

Had I not been around a few 124's that almost alway crack around the shift lever, I probably would have assumed the same thing. With so much poly (or whatever that clearcoat is) it is difficult to tell. Anyone familiar with older models will note the gradual reduction in the amount of wood trim being utilized.

It amazes me how much some people are willing to spend to get exactly what they want. Personally I think both species have some attributes and I would not pay $5 more for one or the other JMHO

Wooood

Have you ever seen a "cross section" of the wood pieces that MB uses? They are laminated, and crash tested! Even my old 190E had pieces that were laminated to a precision machined aluminum piece which was attached to the dash , doors and console structure. Try to find that quality/peace of mind elsewhere. These are not cheap plastic afterthoughts found in most all other makes. Definitely a step above!
