delivery checklist

i finally took delivery this past weekend of my E320 (actually, it's for my wife). i came up with a checklist of stuff to look for and do. i figure this might be useful. feel free to add to the list.

1) check for small rubber mat (usually in the glove box). this can be used in the space where the ash tray is.
2) check for the sunroof crank (usually in the glove box).
3) check for first aid kit (in the little storage area under the passenger seat).
4) check for tool kit (in the area where the spare tire is located).
5) check for front license plate cover (usually in the area where the spare tire is).
6) remove the middle tray from the glove box if you want more space and you want to store your manual in there.
7) get a pen, small mag light for the clips in the glove box if you want to.
8) scotch guard the cloth area where you go in/out of the car.

Three weeks before delivery:

At least three weeks before delivery, you should order your Zaino products so you'll have them on hand when the car is delivered.

zaino

which zaino products do we recommend?

Z-1 Polish Lok
Z-2 Show Car Polish for clear coats
Z-5 for Swirls
Z-6 "Gloss Enhancer" spray
Z-7 Car Wash.

or did y'all decide that Z2 wasn't really necessary if you also get Z5?

zaino

there's a ton of info on zaino in the detailing forum. just do a search for zaino and you'll see a lot of stuff from bmms8, jame55, AlBoston, etc.

or go to www.zainobros.com for info.

i ordered my zaino products from Ira today (www.lazaino.com) so hopefully i'll have everything by this weekend. if you're in southern california, you can just pick up the stuff at his house or he'll mail it out to you for $6. he is also pretty knowledgable about the zaino process.

it's a lot of work but i'll try to get it done on sunday if i can find the time. i took some pics of the car today so i can have some before and after pictures.

i was originally planning to just keep the dealer wax on the car and go to the local hand car wash every other week but it looks like i'll be washing this car myself instead.

Rock.

Zaino = UV protection; Shine; longer lasting between applications; Easier to clean off dirt (slick); Z6 anti-static poroperty (ie anti-dust collecting) is amazing - must be seen to be believed!!!

search the boards for this one - it applies to body-shop-freshly-painted cars, but factory-painted cars are baked and cured as part of the assembly process, so wax-on!
