My Keyless Go FINALLY Goes Keyless

My Service Advisor called yesterday afternoon to say the part had arrived. I brought the car in this morning and they took about 1/2 day to install it. They replaced the Keyless Go antenna amplifier located in the C-Pillar. It works perfectly now.

I really like this option, it's just a shame that it's taken this long to resolve this issue. I have not seen a lot of posts here regarding this option, but I think only bmms8 and one other poster said they did not have problems -- most have had some sort of malfunction. I even remember someone who returned the car and got their money back due to problems with this and a couple of other things.

I (knock on wood) have not had a Tele-Aide problem, and I activated it within the first couple of days. I did have the drift-to-the-right problem (they did a 4-wheel alignment), the ticking noise (they replaced the motor mounts), and the Keyless Go problem described above. I love the car in spite of all of this, and it's nice not to have to make excuses for something not working...now that everything is resolved to my satisfaction.

house

i got it from house of imports. i bought from the guy in this forum (Andy Lian) for $1k over invoice.

Actually, i had already ordered the car from him back in october and he offered me $1.5k under sticker back then. later on, i found him in this forum advertising for $1k over invoice but didn't want to bring up renegotiating since i already agreed to the $1.5k under sticker. but once he found out that i was in this forum, he took it upon himself to redo the deal. so he's a pretty good guy.

i've been playing with keyless go for the past week and it's never failed on me.

i've been in the car with my key, wife in the car with the other key at the same time and it still works fine. i don't have to take the key out of my pocket, all doors and trunk open when i pull the handle, all doors lock from the doors / trunk, etc.

the only annoying thing is the beeping when the car door is open to remind me to take the key. i wish the beeping would stop after like 10 seconds or something but it keeps beeping. it's a pain when i'm putting in scotch guard on the cloth near the door and i need to keep the door open to let it dry.

overall, great car so far. it took me an hour or so to get used to the brakes and accelerator. i drive a ford explorer.

Rock.
