07 E350
((NEWBIE QUESTION))
Hey guys new to the MB world....was a Ford man...MUstang...and Navigator...now switchign to an 07 E350...

First off...I can't tell but do these things have HID's???

Any problems with these vehicles that I should anticipate?

Any mods that should be done immeadately?

Sorry for the newbie querstions...but...Im sure I will have more...

HIDs are optional equipment--if you have headlight washers you have HIDs.

Best thing to know about Mercedes is that they should not be maintained by anyone without Mercedes experience and access to current service information.

uh, I have an 08 E550, and I have headlight washers, but no HID.

If you have a P2 package, you have HID. or, if you have HID, you have HID.

You can also tell by the way they turn on. Park against a garage door or wall at night. Turn on the headlights & if they appear to "flicker on" like a flourescant lamp, they're Bi Xenon HID lights.

If your '07 has Keyless-Go then it will also have xenon lights. The easiest way to spot a P2 car is to look at the door handles for the small, square black rubber door lock buttons.

You sure about that? I also thought that headlamp washers were reserved for cars with HID head lamps.

Do yours auto level when you start the car? That's also a tell tale sign of HIDs

In Europe the washers are available as a separate option for non-HID head lights but I've never seen one having that option. With HIDs washers come standard. Me too would consider a car having HIDs if it has washers.

When I was car shopping at my dealership, there were plenty of new E-classes on the lot without the P2 package, that had the headlamp washers. The P2 package is the determining factor, if you have bi-xenon or not - not the headlamp washers. And yes, P2 also includes keyless-go.

okay thanks guys....what about the VIN...is there anything on the internet other than carfax for MB, that will allow me to run the VIN and will give me an idea of all of the items the vehicle has?

well, I don't have HID's (or keyless go), trust me, I don't have P2. BUT, I have air suspension and it does auto level when I start. AND I have headlamp washers, sprays when lights are on and I hit the washers 5 times. No HID.

MB sucks, its a shame you have to have P2 to get it. I grabbed this one off the lot, the W212 I order will definately have it.

Interesting....

You learn something new every day. I would've bet my right ******** that you couldn't get headlight washers on a non-HID car in the U.S.

So who here that owns a E350 has any quirks or complaints about it, or wishes they would have purchased an E550 or maybe even a new C300 OR 350?
