Rear door ashtrays broke off - looks like can't replace, only new whole door panel?
From looking at the EPC it seems like there's no way to replace/fix this without replacing the whole interior door panel.
These are a terrible design - both sides broke off with not much force when they got caught on my pants and my son's pants. |
Which part actually got broken? Odd if you've had an issue on both sides while I have not had any on two similar cars.
Anyway, EPC shows which parts can be bought separately if you don't want to try to fix the broken parts. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp...SGR=075&SGN=06 |
Part 330 "Ashtray" broke off...
it's only held in by a spring and some small plastic things.
As you can see in the diagram, it mounts directly into the whole door panel. I now have a gaping hole in each rear door. |

That would be great - Thanks for the info...
on the parts diagram above there's no separate part listed however -- could you possibly find your record for this repair and find the part number?
