E550, Awesome car...now I need some advice...
So I picked up a pre-owned 2007 E550 with 35k miles over the weekend and I am sold.
If you are even considering the E class…. drive this car, the only thing better would be the E63 (but not for this price).
I started looking for a "sports" car about 2 months ago...my wife convinced me to get a "more practical" ride. This was the compromise vehicle…but it is no compromise at all!!!
Anyway here is where I need the help, I bought it from a BMW dealer, and so although they did give the car the once over I feel like I should have a MB dealer check it out. The vehicle appears to be very well kept and the condition and function of the car seems fine. I checked with the dealer where the car was purchased and they have no service records in the system.
1) Will I have any warranty problems as the vehicle up to this point was not “dealer maintained”. I think not but if any one has input that would be great.
2) I want to get the car checked out, the service manager said for about $350 they could use the CPO process (about 2 hours long), or I could go with service B. I am thinking the CPO process is more detailed. I do not like to waste money but I got a good deal and just want to be thorough about any issues up front. Especially given the fact that I have no idea how the car was serviced up to this point.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin
Furthermore, for $350 if the vehicle passes take a shot at having the dealer/MBUSA actually qualify the vehicle as CPO thus entitling you to the additional benefits.
