I just looked at the charcoal link. My seats on my E500 have small perforations on the seats. The ones in this link appear to have solid leather on the seats. Is it just the way it looks in the picture or what?
Rayscar, perforated leather is standard. The smooth and solid one is Nappa leather (CDN$1,130 option in Canada). Nappa is softer/smoother, but won't hold up as well as the regular leather and will show creases more easily.

Thanks for the info Benggolf. I didn't remember seeing the nappa option.

I think a big mistake from MB was to replace two interior colors with one.

They replaced Java and Quartz (two beige/brown color interiors available in the W210) with just one for the W211.

It would have been nicer to have a lighter and darker beige variation with a lot of the newer colors like Desert and Pewter instead of just the one which has to try to match both.

The Stone is more like Quartz than the Java which I think is a little too light but since that is the only option (can't afford Designo leather) I quess I'm stuck with it.

The Nappa is not an option in the US at this point. There is only one leather option.

Just to clarify, the car in the picture was on ebay and from a US dealer, so it is just that the perforations were not visible. It does not have Nappa leather.

You and me both! Soon, soon.

The ship's 3 days out of Southampton. Dock in Baltimore 20 Dec, then I figure a week to actually take delivery what with customs, VPC, truck scheduling, holidays, inspection, dealer prep, Murphy, etc.

Haven't quite decided if I'll be able to hold off til 02 Jan to avoid the luxury tax. Obviously the closer the delivery gets, the twitchier the potential owner gets.

Ray, I have the Nappa leather on my car and its solid - Its so smooth. There is a big differance to me at least when I sit in an E calss with the standard leather with the perforations (much more harder) I find the nappa much more pleasing to the touch and sitting.

Muhri2, could you tell us if Napa leather replaces all the leather on the standard seats or just the center portion of the seat? I might consider amending my order to include Nappa. It is indeed more pleasing to the touch and sitting. TIA.

OK, I picked up my Pewter/ash today, but it was miserable outside (snow/sleet/rain). I shot a few frames inside the dealer delivery center but they're too warm looking, the ash looks more like stone...but I did shoot the pewter E500 next to a brilliant silver SL500.

(note this dealer showed me *three* SL55 AMGs, not sure how many were already sold, but that's a *lot* of horsepower)

I'll be posting some pics this weekend. The snow is supposed to stop on Saturday.

There are a few quick pics on the picture thread. More when the sun comes out.
