reality check messing with a C63 AMG
last Friday I was heading down to Maryland for a little crab feast...
all of a sudden... some guy in a new C series comes flying up on the right lane behind me and then pulled over to my lane (I was bogged down behind a truck) ... I'm thinking that he was just being a little indignant... didn't he notice the 500 on the back of this particular grocery getter... maybe the 9.5 inch CLS AMG wheels...dark tinted glass???
after a moment.. I started seeing that this wasn't your normal AMG front end on this thing.. then it happened.. he got a hole in the traffic and whammm... this guy flew buy and I haven't heard a car sound that good in a long time!!
I caught up to him a couple of times.. each opening in traffic.. we both gunned it.. I got creamed.. that car is sooo fcking fast.. then we came up to the toll.. I was right behind him and we made the jump together... again.. slaughtered!
too bad they have such crap interiors.. or I'd be sooo tempted into getting one.
Guess I will have to wait till the 09 W211s (wagon) AMG replacement comes out...

guess plastic on the interior dash is easier to clean kiddies finger prints off!
by the way... I did see pictures of a very sexy wagon AMG C63 .. hmmmmmmmmm...

I missed the Montreal race this weekend. But a couple of weeks back I watched the Monte Carlo GP and I saw several great views of the C63 or CL63 wagon F1 use as their medical car. The fastest EMT's on 4 wheels!

just get an E63 AMG....best of both worlds, from what I have seen you run very, very close to the C63.
I would want the bigger car anyway. I drove the new c class and yes, they are quick but the my E550 is no slow boat.

Your post perfectly describes my senses after driving a C63 in late April. I was sufficiently impressed that I went back and ordered an 09 C63 to my specs. It will be built in a couple of weeks and will be on the ground for delivery in late July (when MBUSA releases the 09's to the public).
While I have become sufficiently attached to my E550 that I have decided to keep her and trade my Jeep, I will say that C63 makes the 550, while certainly no slouch, seem pretty tame in comparison.
I believe that the C63 bodes well for what is in store with W212, and plan to trade the 550 for a second year W212 barring any product or quality issues etc. as witnessed with the early W211 years at that time.
In the interim, I much anticipate adding a pocket hot rod Benz to the stable for driving entertainment on the weekends.

But the C63 is a true beast and IMO is a blast to drive. Have you seen the Sahara/Black combination interior, it will make the E class interior look like ****. Hell its nice enough that you dont want to sit inside.

It is true but a bit harsh, I mean yeah they are a bit bland on the interior, not really any woodgrain, quite simple and very German, similar to the Audi A4. In the end though it is the baby version to the MBs and you get what you pay for, you put out the extra [whatever it costs in your country] and get an E63 it is 1000x nicer inside. Lol but still the W204 interior is also about 1000x better than the BMW any series interior.
