w211 broken interior parts

Broke off my headrest control knob today while detailing. I tried searching for anyone that had a similar problem and if it's easily fixed (DIY). I'm not sure if the broken piece was a male/female connection type. If anyone can offer some advice, it will be greatly appreciated. I could super glue it back but I believe it would break off again because of the angle it pushes to.

Dealer may cover it under warranty. My E320 CDI was loose when I purchased it - clearly because a passenger did not know how to operate it and was pressing on it forward and backward and snapped it. My dealer repaired it no questions under warranty (even though they probably didn't have to).

I will definitely give them a try. I had a rear bumper strip I bought from them and they wanted $400 to install when some would do it for free.

mine pass side head reat button is broken too. I'll have to check & see what the dealer will do. Had a hassel on other craked interior parts over 50K miles.

Clearly a bad design

Yeah - but the problem is really people not familiar with the car and move it in the wrong direction with excessive force.
