Debadge trunk completely?

When I take my car in to get the AMG kit put on, I'm going to debadge the "E500" emblem. I'm also considering:

1) debadging the centered Mercedes "star"

or

2) replacing the mercedes star with a small (if I can find one) flat hood emblem

What do you guys think would look best?

1) only remove E500
2) remove E500 and Star
3) remove E500 and replace Star with a small flat hood badge

Here's a pic from Eric's car for reference

If you remove the star, you'll need to fill the 3 holes and have the trunk painted. It's not held on by adhesive tape like the E500. Use a credit card and wiggle out, you'll see. With that being said, keep just the star and paint it black if you want to do something different. I did a black star and black sport grille, but my car is Tectite Gray.

first choice

trunk star has three holes, hood star has two. You would have to fill three holes if you remove it or fill two holes and make a forth to install the hood star.

Those who feel I should leave the star on the trunk, I'm curious as to why...

1) Because you think it will look better
or
2) Just because it's *the star*

Both............ plus what are you going to do about the trunk holes if you remove the star?

This has been done before, Search the E55 forum and youll see it. It actaully looks very cool without the star. The guy got the wholes filled and the trunk resprayed. It looks awesome

Keep star!

I think it's wrong taking the star off, it gives a kind of symmetric look, especially when the "E500" badge is taken off - it just looks the best, and I think you would regret taking the star off.

I'll try to find it later, unless you have a link handy

If I did remove the star, I would have the holes filled and sprayed. I'm getting an AMG kit installed and my front grill painted anyway

Having trouble finding this thread. Any ideas on what words I should search for? I've tried trunk star, debadge trunk, mercedes star, debadge.

i would leave the e500. if you take it off everyone will assume you have a 320. i ALWAYS think that when i see a debadged e class. i am proud to have the 500 i would not remove it.
