Hi,
I have a 2003 E320 and have had a garage door opener problem ever since I got the car. I have four garages, each with a LiftMaster with rolling codes. I've synched three of them to the MB rear mirror controller, and I HAVE used the "hit the learning button, then hit the door button 3x" method. It always works initially.
The problem is that the button that I use for my garage (#2 on the rear mirror controller) invariably will open up BOTH doors #1 and #2. Button #1 continues to open garage door #1 fine, as does button #3 for garage #3. But either a week, weeks or month later, button #2 will get confused and will open up both #1 and #2.
My warranty will expire this August. Is it likely that my dealership can replace this garage door unit under the terms of my warranty? I tried explaining the problem before and they told me I had to talk with Liftmaster about it.
Anybody else with the same problem? Did you get it resolved?
Thanks.

Why would the dealership replace the garage door unit? It has nothing to do with your car's warranty.

Try to clear the programming on the homelink system and re-sync all 3 in a different order. If then in a week button #2 opens both items programmed to #1 and #2, it is something wrong with the mirror. This way you can explain to the advisor (BTW, which dealer are you going to?) that it does not matter which garage or opener is progammed.
Do not confuse the advisor when you drop it off. Just states button #2 activates both items programmed to pos#1 and pos#2. For a problem that cannot be duplicated at the dealer, the more clear info you give the advisor, the better the chance of getting a repair instead of "no problem found...."
Good Luck

I have an 07 Bluetec and I have the same problems I gues it could be the garage door openers brand. I have the Sears craftman brand.I had it on my old house w/one garage door opener and it worked fine. Now I have three car garage w/2 separate units and it opens both of them as well.
