Hey all,

I am wondering if it is ok to swap out the facotry H7 bulbs for some Piaa or other aftermarket bulbs. I ask because on my previous car, the aftermarket bulbs I put in ended up burning the socket and cost me a lot of money to replace the wiring harnesses.

I just want to check with people who have swapped their bulbs and confirm that they work ok and don't cause problems.

I know as long as you match the wattage of the factory bulb then it should be ok? right

I've had a bunch of PIAA's in my other cars and they are top notch bulbs. You should be just fine with them. I'm guessing that you don't have HID's correct?? If not then just go with the PIAA's. Xtreme Whites are really good.

I replaced all of mine... pain in the a$$, but got it done. very tight spot indeed.

Yea it seems like it is not to easy to access, I was looking at the engine bay today and it looks like a tight squeeze to get to the headlight fixtures where the bulbs are. Did you just do headlights or the high beams also, and the other bulb in the high beam fixture?

I installed these for my headlights (almost a year ago and still going) once they go, I will replace with HID 6K

Someone had posted a link to this site, which has halogen bulbs that match the color of Xenon lights (4300k): www.hoen-usa.com.

For W211, the bulb sizes are H7 for low beam and high beam, and H-11 for fog lights.

I have the bi-xenons and now I'm thinking of replacing the stand-along halogen hi-beams and fog lights with halogen's that have a color that is close to matching the Xenon bulbs. Are these bulbs difficult to replace? I notice the owner's manual doesn't even show how to replace the fog light bulbs.
