When are we going to get the new Direct Injection Engine's?
Seems like we're not going to get the Direct Injection engines with the W211, at least not for the first couple of years. Anyone have any info? Maybe they will start putting the engines when the new CLK comes out?

I don't know about you guys, what I find it odd that the E320 froim the W124 to the W210 and now to the W211 has never had more than 221 HP. Couldn't they have at least done some minor modifications? The competition is heating up, but MB still isn't doing anything. I mean the acura cl type-s puts out 260 horses. It's not like the same competition they had 8 years ago. They keep improving on everything else, but they don't touch the engine. These new GDI units better have some serious power upgrades accross the line.

I think they should also have come out with the E350 as well with the competition being what it is presently....anyways, mercedes quote 0-100km/h for the E320 as 7.7, this usually translates as a 0-60 figure of about 7.3-7.5 while the E500 has a 0-100km/h time of 6.0 thus, look for a time of about 5.6-5.8 for a 0-60 which would be very decent for this class, makes you wonder what the 0-60 would be for the E55komp that has 160hp+ on the E500, mid 4's me thinks

Granted the engines are going to be phased in, but it's a rather curious choice of horsepower ratings. The current selection seems more progressive.
Have to wait and see what the corresponding price tag spread is and when the US gets them, I guess.
