Exclamation Should I be angry?

Okay, so as you may or may not know, I'm builiding my girlfriends E350 4matic. As of right now, I have only done wheels and sidemarkers but I have a brabus quad and was planning on doing a full brabus kit on this car. Yesterday, she already curbed the wheel (bad) and managed to tear rubber off the sidewall along with it. The wheels have been on the car for about two weeks. I knew it would happen, but not this soon. Should I be pissed? Is it my fault for being stupid? Probably....what do you think? Would you go ahead and keep working on this car if you were me? What do you think. I can't get this out of my head I need input. I do drive this car a fair amount but I can't stand for my projects to get fukd up before I finish them but I love to work on them. Ugh, what a dilemma. Help me out guys.......

Nah man, you can't be mad. It happens. Don't yell at her, I'm sure she feels bad enough as it is. Replace the tire, get the wheel fixed and keep on keeping on. It'll happen again, but there are far more important things in the world to get upset about. Wheels and tires aren't one of them.

Keep modding and with every new mod, you'll fell better and better.

You have bigger problems than those wheels. What's more important to you, wheels/tires/money or your relationship? Do you really think buying expensive dogs and doing expensive mods is necessary for your relationship? Or to value it? Maybe what you are really asking is not whether you should stop the mod project but whether you should continue the relationship, which is WAY beyond the comeptence of this forum. 8-)

No I don't believe they are necessary for my relationship. We have made it over 4 yrs now without stuff like this so that definatly is not the issue. I love to mod and I guess I get crazy when things get messed up b4 I finish them. Thanks for ur input though....

Cute dog.
No point in getting mad since you know it's going to happen sooner or later. Besides, if you don't get mad, she'll notice it, and probably cut you some slack the next time you do something she doesn't like.

clear corners is about as far as I've gotten on my wife's car ...
to add to my previous post, I've cut my wife some slack for stuff I didn't like, and now I "get" to do an AMG conversion on my car

Is your girl a "car" person. If she's not appreciative of having a Brabus kit, she probably won't look after it. She might like that it looks good. But is that as far as it goes. So, are you doing this as much for yourself, or for her?

If she bought herself a $1500 pair of Manolo's or Choo's do you think those shoes would be tippy-toed around in, with the greatest care and attention?

Mistakes are mistakes. But if it will be a regular thing I wouldn't fix the wheel. Do the tire if there is a safety issue.

If it were me I would save my money, get myself an E and trick that out. I have curbed my wheels, but they were curbed before I got the car. I had an opportunity to get very good wheels, but I knew it would drive me crazy making sure I never got a scratch on them.

Good luck mate!

Reading your signature, it seems all your projects are "all show no go" mods. You are so fortunate to own a S/C AMG. Spend money on what I call "real" mods. Your motor is insane with pulley/filter mods, and is the best bang for the buck, which will get you insane power. Forget the rims/bodykit "all show no go mods" on your V6's.......

Just my view. And no, don't get upset at the lady....

Yuppppp!! You are right on the money. I wont put the money into my 55 because I purchased an extended warranty which cost me a crazy 6k after taxes (had to buy my own car back from dealership and pay taxes like it was a sale.) At that point, I promised myself rather than have anymore headaches with the car I would just enjoy it how it was and if anything happened it would be on the dealership to fix it. I won't risk it. I decided it is fast enough and that it is. Maybe an exhaust in the future but thats nothing. I do the show and not the go because I'm not looking to void warranties on these already testy cars. Its just not worth it to me. I'd rather they look great which all of mine do. They look different than others and that is what I like to do. I've done plenty of engine work in the past on other cars and it always ends up being a headache. I'm tired of it. My friend AMGRIDER who has I believe a stage 4 or 5 E55 w/ all that insane VRP stuff, SLR cams and huge throttle the whole 9 yards has problems constantly. His car looks amazing, sounds amazing and moves amazing, but only when it is working! I can't deal with that. I drive my cars everyday. The CL is driven most, just can't have problems with it.....

it's all based on your GF reaction. it doesn't sound like she appreciates car mods. I would not continue modding her car, it seems like she's not a car person. don't feel bad bro, my girl could care less if i pick her up on the bus or driving my car.

I hear ya. Plus the "standard" power of your AMG is nothing to be trifled with. I'm a sucker for engine mods though.

You fully enjoy the eye candy, who doesn't?! Hell, I chose my E500 cuz it has the AMG body kit! So based on your posts, get that Brabus kit, and continue on! good luck!

In my life, I've know 3 types of women.

1) Those who love and appreciate cars. (very rare)
2) Those who take care of the service and drive it like an appliance. Bumpers, wheels, doors getting more compoundedly fkd up over time. (most of them)
3) And the classic "you need to change the oil" (think shily smiling, while bitting a nail), and "these breaks make loud squealing noises for the fast 4 months". (The remainder)

98% percent of the time they either just don't care, or put stuff on the car because we like it.

I only buy Camry's for the wife. She's awesome at maintaining the car, but drives it like an appliance. Camry's - spares the heartache.

:7)

Yea man, thats just how it is. Trust me I'd put the money into my own and I'd love it to be faster than it is. The Brabus kit will come regardless I don't feel like trying to get rid of this Brabus quad anyway I want it on there it looks to good and I'm sure it will give the car I nice tone.Thnx 4 ur input

Who is on title for "your girlfriends car" and who paid/is paying for the car itself?

Who is paying for these mods on this W211?

Why the hell do you care? Honestly, mind your own business that has nothing to do with the question I asked.

Calm down, you are the one who asked if you had a right to get upset and for opinions. Depending on who owns the car and who pays for the mods has a big impact on if you have a right to get upset. Clearly by your post you get upset too easily, don't ask for advice if you don't really want it.

I imagine he's upset because the implied question of why he is spending all this money (fancy car parts, $2,500 dog, etc.) on a "girlfriend" rather than making her a "wife", hit a little to close to home.

my thoughts exactly... but well, apparently the OP asked a question for which he doesn't want to hear the answer (and well, it seems clear as to who is paying)...
