Door ajar indicators?

Door ajar indicators?
I just noticed today that there are no door ajar indicators in the dash. Is this right or is there something abnormal? I didn't fully close my door today and there was no indication in the dash (other than the dome light still being on, but during the day you can't really tell.

Your speedometer multi-function display screen should switch to red lettering and background, a tone sounds, and a car outline displays which door is open. The car must be in gear, and beginning to move forward or backward slightly. 'Hope this helps explain how it works.

I tested this and it did not seem to work. I had the door slightly opened, shifted the car in reverse, and started to back out of the garage without any warning indicators. Do you need to be going at a certain speed for there to be a warning?

Initially I said that it doesn't work. I take it back, it does work. However, you need to be off the brake for a few seconds before the tone sounds and the indicator changes. It won't show if you just ride the brake a few inches forward or backward.
