Big Ugly Hole
I noticed, after buying my E55, that I am missing the MB emblem/star that sits at the front of the engine cover. Every time I open the hood, my eyes go straight to the big hole where the star used to be and the pulley under it. It's very unsightly, and supposedly, I have to buy a whole new engine cover, as they don't sell just the star. I can see the little pegholes where the star used to be attached. I suppose someone took a liking to the emblem before I acquired the car, and popped it off.
Has anyone else had a problem like this or know if I will have to buy a whole new engine cover? Thanks!

Yes, thanks. I am talking about the engine cover, under the hood, not the standing star on the hood. I have a flat hood badge, thanks to DFWdude (I think that was his name). Great work, btw. I love my white star flat badge.
