Oil Change; STD oil or 229...?
I changed the oil in my 2003 E500 Sport & now it's time to confirm the service. The options are standard oil & 229.5. What does that mean? I did use Mobile one 0x40.

The service reminder is requesting that info so it can calculate the next oil change interval. The Eurospec oil in conjunction with the fleece filter that you may have used generates longer service intervals. I believe the FSS starts out at 13,000 miles with the high grade set up. I don't know what it starts at with conventional oil. I usually cut the distancea little short at about 8-10K. That comes out well above the factory required interval which starts regressing with more severe driving conditions and habits.
Regardless of advice here, I would not put a $60 oil change in my car and change it at 3000 miles. This topic is akin to music, politics and religion. Just watch the flames start rolling in.

Do not select 229.5 unless you also used the proper fleece filter in conjunction with that oil, if you did, 229.5 it is.

FYI: I did use the oem filter purchased from the steelership & confirmed the 229.5. I was just wondering what the settings meant. Thanks for your input...
