Auto trunk opening feature

I've had my E350 a month now, and I love finding new features. I discovered today that the trunk latch in the driver side door not only opens the trunk if pulled (I knew that), but also closes the trunk if pushed (didn't know that).

Very cool. Now if there is a way to close the trunk remotely using the key, then I'll really be impressed.

If you don't have the powered trunk, the button only opens the trunk.

If you do have the option, it does both.

On the SUVs the hatch closer works with the key to both open and close it. On the sedans, I do not know of a way to close the trunk with the key - only the switch on the driver door and the red button in the trunk will do this. The key will only open it. If you press it while the trunk is open you will hear it attempt to open it again.
