The Best of Mercedes & AMG
1 - unlock with remote, sit inside close the door.
2 - (do not start car) turn key until dash lights come on or 2 clicks (do not start car)
3 - floor it, make sure you get the kick down (down) -button under gas pedal-
4 - Keep it floored like you're in last place for 20 seconds (yes count to 20)
5 - while KEEPING it floored, turn the key back to off (leave key in) AND
6 - KEEP it Floored for 3 minutes (yes count) after 180 seconds
7 - release pedal, count to 10 - start car and enjoy
Please note your foot should have not left the pedal for 200 seconds
Once you floored it, do not release until step 7
Your key should never leave the ignition during reboot
Do not touch any buttons i.e. radio, windows, seat adjust NOTHING Just sit there
YOU WILL NOT HEAR ANYTHING DURING THIS PROCESS OTHER THEN YOUR CLOCK TICKING YOUR ANXIETY TO HURRY THE TIME UP SO YOU CAN UNLEASH THE NEW BEAST.
My throttle response and shift points were dramatically more present. it just feels better and you shall see for yourself, if you just simply follow the easy steps.
But it did only work for me this way -
So for anyone using my steps, feel free to let off the pedal
after 20 seconds or stay on it as I did. Although It worked for me
this way.
This worked like a charm on the 2nd attempt. Here is exactly how I did it and it why it worked (talked to an MBZ tech)
1 - unlock with remote, sit inside close the door.
2 - (do not start car) turn key until dash lights come on or 2 clicks (do not start car)
3 - floor it, make sure you get the kick down (down) -button under gas pedal-
4 - Keep it floored like you're in last place for 20 seconds (yes count to 20)
5 - while KEEPING it floored, turn the key back to off (leave key in)
6 - (not mandatory you "can" skip this step) KEEP it Floored for 3 minutes (yes count) after 180 seconds
7 - release pedal, count to 10 - start car and enjoy
(not mandatory to keep it floored)

Now if your girlfriend says hey my neighbor can really make you car go fast by screwing around with the transmission software----that's a very different situation and I would not let him or her touch the car.

thanks for reply.. Just to clarify the procedure I am talking about is :
(0.) Get into the driver's seat, and make sure all doors, windows, and sunroof is closed.
(1.) Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position. <== Position #2 where all the lights on the dash turn on but NOT to where the engine turns on!
(2.) Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
(3.) Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal. <== I personally keep the gas pedal depressed for 5-10 additional seconds AFTER I turn off the key.
(4.) Wait at least two minutes for "TCU "to reset. (key in) <== Very important to leave the key in the ignition!
So this is not a TCU reset rather it resets tranny shift patterns and has no impact on warranty or any software updates, correct? How often you think you should reset it? I bought my car used and seems a little sluggish.
Just Put the key in ignition, turn to pos 2, floor pedal for 5 to 20 seconds (nobody really knows who long it really takes), turn key back to off, leave it in the ignition though, then release gas pedal, wait until your cluster goes off (that's when your CAN-B CAN-Bus shuts down) and remove the key. Lock the car if you want or need to so you can go back inside the house.
That's it.
It does NOT reset any firmware or what not. It simply resets the TCU's adaptation values. If one wants an even more thorough reset of the TCU's adaptation values, one needs a SD. But I DO NOT recommend doing that unless there are major shifting issues and the transmission stutters and doesn't shift smoothly.

Ok will try it.. thanks!!..
Was experiencing gear 3-4 slipping about 5-10 minutes into a drive.
Playing with the gas pedal seemed to 'help' it shift.
This went on for a few weeks until it eventually stopped shifting and no amount of pedal play helped.
Was looking at about 5k to repair a potential trans issue but decided to try this out before giving in.
Good as new - gear shift works perfectly.
Normally don't comment on these forums but had to do it on this one so that the next guy can know that this can potentially be a fix for weird gear shift issues that dont appear to be mechanical because they only happen after a specific amount of time driving.
hope it helps someone as it did for me.
Big thanks for this tip!!!
