E500 Delivered October 21. No problems so far for us.

However, you can search through the threads as some folks have had problems with SRS warning system, Telaid and some other electronics which have required electronics tinkering or replacement. Also, some folks have indicated a "ticking" sound for which there is a service bulletin for engine mount replacement.

I haven't heard for sure, but believe that these issues mostly apply to earlier deliveries. So far, most everyone who has reported them still are overall happy with their purchase and would do it again.

We reviewed BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Lexus, Infiniti luxury sedans before ordering our E500. We have owned MB, BMW, Audi, and Lexus sedans before, and would consider them if the styling, appointments and drive all came together in one outstanding automobile as is the case with the E500. But, we are not pleased with the styling or drive of the Lexus line; the styling or appointments of the BMW or Audi lines; or the styling, drive or appointments of the Infiniti or Jaguar lines. We like the styling, drive and appointments of all the MB sedans. Our choice of the E was primarily a "size" issue. We thought the C320 smaller than our needs and the S500 a bit too large (not as nimble as the E).

The E500 is simply the best all around sedan I have ever owned. The styling is fabulous. It gets a lot of compliments and has grown (even though we liked it right away) on us every day. The appointments and features are incomparable. The drive is firm enough but compliant enough to thread the needle between a sports sedan and a luxury sedan. We recently spent several days and several hundred miles sightseeing with my inlaws who were visiting. I rode in the front and back seats at different times. There is plenty of room in the back seat even for a 6 footer or more as I am.

Here is the clinker, I think your color choice is the best. We have Pewter/Stone. I think Pewter as a new exterior color this year is really a great choice for you. I have seen the new E in just about every color now. I can say that I like it in every color I have seen.

Go for it!!!

Well, I had a myriad of problems including replace engine mounts, reconnect plug to left rear dome light, replace Keyless Go amplifiers, alignment to correct drift to right, replacement of driver's side seat belt, and 1 false alarm on the SRS failure.

All is perfect now, and I am extremely satisfied. It does take some patience to work through the repairs, but being a member of this forum will help greatly.

I'm still thinking of asking MB for some type of compensation for having the car in the shop for 28 days because of limited parts availability.

Ya know, Chris, 28 days in the shop in the first 8 weeks of ownership says at least 2 words to me:
