Dead '05 E320 CDI
It was towed to the dealership. They recharged and tested the battery, then proceeded to keep the car for two weeks to run multiple diagnostics. The diagnostics were unavailing, and the dealership called MBNA's tech support, again with no solution. I now have the car back and it has, so far, worked fine.
Anyone have a similar experience?
Other than FOUR batteries under warranty for my CDI, I've never had or heard of this problem. You must be at the cusp of the factory warranty at the anniversary of your trip to Germany for the delivery-was it covered?
BTW, the wife and I ordered a Jetta Sportwagen TDI. VW can't even tell me when, or if, the diesel car will be delivered. Unlike MB, when we knew the date of our car's build!

Yep, the warranty expires in 2-3 weeks. I bought an extended warranty that M-B underwrites, so I'm good to go for a while yet. Stil, I'm glad it was covered, as the dealership kept it 2 weeks to run diagnostics. While they had it, a glow plug failed, which was also warranteed.
Still love the car and plan to keep it indefinitely.
Take care.
