Oil for my 06 CDI?
Just got her 3 weeks ago and I used Amsoil 5/40W which is MB 229.51.

Manual calls for 229.5.
Anyone see a reason not to use 229.51?
I have 2 cases of it since I also have a Sprinter based RV with the new V6 and it calls for 229.51.

Vehicles with the Mercedes Maintenance System starting with MY2005 can use 229.5 or 229.51 oils.
MB sheet 229.51 approved oils; low ash long life
Mercedes pioneered this new spec for passenger cars with diesel engines with exhaust particulate filters, and gasoline engines, and longer service life than the 229.31 oils. The spec was introduced in 2005. Change intervals increased to 20,000 kilometers. Based on ACEA A3 B4 and C3.
