Question How to lower an E500 4matic wagon

searched the forum but still have some questions - it seems that for the few people that have had w211 wagons and lowered them that it was achieved via springs in the front and altering the air suspension in the rear - is this only for the e320/e350 etc...or is this also applicable to the e500 / from what I can gather the e500 suspension is a bit different...does this mean that it can be lowered front and rear with a module and/or the infamous washer technique etc...? Thanks for the clarification

my car is an 05 e500 (4matic of course) with the appearance/sport package

Thanks

The 500 Has Air suspension so there are a couple of ways to drop it

SDS
Washers
links
Control module

The Rear also has a sensor to fine tune the height for the self level

I've got on my "someday/maybe" list a Renntech lowering module.

Thanks Mark - good to be back - played a little with a Range Rover Sport and an Audi S4 - but nice to be back with the mercedes (and a wagon nonetheless)- we are actually picking it up on Sunday - so Im not fully back yet but because we've already bought it I guess it qualifies

While I have you...a couple quick questions for you as I know you are a wealth of knowledge -why all the talk about springs in the front of the wagons and air in the back - you are the first to tell me that the wagon can be dropped in the same way as my former e350 (module, washers etc..) just so little info out there on the wagons.

And this changes everything for me with my wheel selection - in that I knew I wasnt going to do springs (and thought that was the only to drop it until now)...I was going to go with 18's but me now thinks that 19's will be in order (maybe).

So in that you have a wagon what would you recommed in terms of suspension and wheels

Thanks Mark

Chris

Get the rims first..Then Lower the wagon for best results WITH your 19s

I Have the 030 AMG 19s on the W211 and they look Great

Can you explain the washer method in more detail please? this is the second time I've heard of lowering the E500 with washers. I've yet to hear any explanations or photos to show how this is done. I think I'd like to give this method a try if it's safe. Thanks!!
