Sway bar joint..............

Hi Guys,

I took our 04 E500W (with AirMatic) in for service because the front end was making a hollow, thumping sound and after they looked over the front end, they said that it was lower control arm bushings and a sway bar "joint".

I asked if they meant an end link or a bracket bushing and they said that it being a three link suspension, there is a joint. I've never heard of this, but that doesn't mean that it's not true.

Is this true and has anyone heard of this?

Thanks in advance!

Detali does not cover a 4-Matic car but the parts are the same for a RWD here:

Thank You!

From that diagram, it looks like a ball joint, not a sway bar joint.

I'm going to call them first thing Monday morning and ask them to save the old parts. I want to see what's broken. That's the only way to learn.

Thanks again!
