It is hard to judge the knowledge members have as people come and go. The pads have a sensor embedded in them. It is a coated wire loop that shorts out when it contacts the rotor. They are pretty cheap to buy and very easy to damage when installing. The vehicle has no way to judge pad wear without them. Unless you have other issues (SBC or brake fluid) I would start there. I installed new ones and still managed to damage one during the process. Had to take the tire back off and replace it.

Does it show:

(O) Brake Wear, visit workshop

or

BRAKE! Visit Workshop
????

The latter would be a malfunction with the brake system (stop lamp, SBC battery, SBC pump, brake fluid......) and needs the codes to be pulled....

Check out sticky thread #7 at the top of the forum. It should solve your problem.
