Question Some HELP please

I know I spotted a thread somewhere here about a AFTERMARKET KEYLESS GO. I've searched for the past hour thread after thread and the SEARCH option just isn't working right now

Can any MODERATORS or Members link me to a thread or any thread regarding that? I have a friend that is very interested and its frustrating me that I can't find that original thread I saw

Any help would be appreciated

We used to manufacturer one at my company back in like 1998, it was a full fledged alarm with remote start sytem, not just a passive lock and unlock system. The remote would lock, unlock, pop the trunk, and remotely start the car from like 800 ft. away. It also had the passive arm/lock and disarm/unlock feature which when you would come about a few feet from the car, it would unlock and when you would walk a few feet away from the car, it would lock. Also, it had a switch on the remote to turn it on or off.

Cool! Thanks!

Do you know if anyone makes anything similar to the factory one?

But this sounds more like a remote door lock plus remote start system. KG would mean you don't have to press any button on the remote key, just keep in your pocket. Or did I read this incorrectly.

All these that anyway need to be able to start the car have problems with the MB Drive Authorisation System, it just is too safe for these devices.

Hey bro, your best bet may be to try a search on a site like junkyarddog.com I use them to source parts that are too expensive from Mercedes. Give them a shot. I'm SURE there is atleast 1 junkyard MB thats sitting with a perfectly intact keyless go system, even likely a W211. You could probably get the door handles, shift knob and control unit with harness and wires for half of what you'd pay new from the factory. Be descriptive in your explanation of what you are looking for. Your message goes out to a network of auto wreckers and junkyards across the country I just bought an 08 W211 mirror assembly for under $200. Good luck

It has a transponder system to lock and unlock the doors when the remote gets near or far from the car. The remote has a small switch on it also to turn off the feature. I don't even know if I have any left since it is out of production.

There is another type of unit. It has a small remote with a small reset button on it. The unit picks up when you get close or far away from the car and unlocks and locks the doors. What kind of car is he installing this on? Benzes are very tough.
