Jesus. At 18 (1990) I was driving a 1979 Dodge Colt that a friend of a friend was selling to the junk yard for $50.00. I gave him 75$, fixed the manual choke, put in a set of points and drove that little crapbox for 2 years. Never even changed the oil. Ever.
I bet the young bucks here don't even know what I mean when I say "I put in a set of points."

Ha, you think thats old school? I was 18 in 1982 and my first car was a 77 Cougar (hand me down) with 60K miles (back then cars with that much mileage were falling apart) and had an 8-TRACK tape player WITH AM/FM!!!, now that is OLD! hahaha.

Did that year Cougar's rear turn indicators blink progressively from the inner side of the lens to the outer? I always thought that was cool.
I'm pretty sure at one time, I had a house speaker sitting in my backseat hooked up to my stereo. Sad.

Nah, it was a 3 ton POS, the cool ones that you are talking about are from the late 60's early 70's. The limit of my performance mod to that POS (i won't get tired of calling it a POS) was turning over the air filter cover to make it sound like the V8 had some *****..... probably made about 120hp and sucked gas at a rate of 8-9 MPG.

38 and bought mine used. My wife drives it mostly. It is nice to finally have a car the whole family can fit in.

33, Creative Director, bought new. This is my third Mercedes. S420, C230, and now the E. Sometimes I miss the S420.

39 and my 09 E is the first car I ever bought new. I've worked really hard my whole life and after a painful divorce, I figured it was time I rewared myself. This gives me a feeling of accomplishment and I take great pride in ownership.
I wish I could have afforded a MB when I was 18-25 instead the used Chevy Cavalier I drove but that wasn't for me.

06 E350 4Matic
38 year old. Just started the purchase process of a 06 E350 4matic for my wife. Will be importing it into Canada. The truly sad part is it is going to cost me less than a new Canadian Camry, Accord, Legacy or 6.
I am a senior consultant. My car is a 2002 Protegé 5 and I am going to drive it to the ground 162k km on it so far.
