Looks like these are relatively new...

In one of the pics you can see the flat nose and the striking similarity with the current W204 C-Class.

You're right - it does look like a C-Class. That will take some getting used to...

these spy photos are making it difficult to really like the car. They use base trim and bland everything. Plus its hidden by that black tape.

The rear looks like the s series a little. I agree about the nose looking like the c class... especially looking from the side profile.

The big reason I just bought a last of the W211 E style (a MY09 E350) is because I really, really, like the very subtle and classic styling of these cars. If I waited, I was afraid to end up with a more C style or "Japanese car" look.

Am I in the minority for liking the current style? I realize it's getting long in the tooth, but I like it, including its trademark oval headlamps.

I really like the current ones - starting with the W210. I did not especially like the W204 C-Class when it was first released, but I did get one as a loaner and I enjoyed driving it. My ex-girlfriend had a 2005 W203 C240 and a 2006 W209 CLK-350 and the interior is more elegant looking in the older ones. The dash and door panels on the W204 have a little too much plastic.

I will say that the W204 has a WONDERFUL sound system with the multimedia package.

If history proves itself again, the W212 will be a large technology leap like the W220-W221 in the S-class - the night vision feature, an LCD panel for the speedometer, etc. And, the multifunction Instrument Cluster in the W204 and W221 is MUCH more intuitive than the 2000-up W210 and W211. The first generation menu system is hard to get used to - especially if you are not one to read a manual or understand technology well, but they improved this (and the steering wheel controls) on the newer cars.

I have a feeling the technology in the W212 will be impressive and that alone will bring many satisfied owners of the W211 to begin liking it, since that seems to be a common complaint with the W211.
