Winter Event sales programs are out - they suck!

I just found the MB winter programs and I'm dispaointed with the '09 E lease deals. $700 +tax for 36 months is way beyond what I was looking for. Not sure how much down for this either. I was hoping to get another short term 27 month deal so I could then move into the new model one year later once they worked out the kinks. Guess I was being way more optimistic that MB would be trying to move lots of cars the next few months during the current slowdown in the auto business. Maybe in the spring...

Feel free to provide any and all comments and suggestions. My '07 E350 is due back in January and I refuse to pay more than the $625/month I'm currently paying. Might have to test drive the new Genesis from Hyundai! Has anyone seen that car in person? I did and was shocked at how well it is put together for the price. No idea what it drives like, but they are going to have an impact at Lexus and Accura for sure at $399/month with $2k down for 36 months for the 290hp V6!

Geez, those deals do seem bad. Don't think that will help improve sales much.

Also, it looks like the financing for any 08 models left has gone up too. Not sure what Mercedes is thinking on these programs. From what I have seen so far their competitors have much better programs.

I have tested Genesis 4.6 and I can’t share your impressions. Yes, the car has most of modern features; however a feel of driving Mercedes is completely different. Somehow interior gives you impression of upscale mainstreamer, but luxury. I wasn’t impressed with iDrive like control system. I could pair my phone, however no addressbook download. Worst thing is too low capital cost. So I couldn’t get lease under $600 with $1K down. I still hope to negotiate invoice when such lease can be possible. If somebody could find a good deal for Genesis 4.6, please share.

There's a credit crunch out there.

SOMBODY has to borrow money to pay for the car you lease.

Auto industry took a bath on leases in recent months.

Losing a little on each sale and making it up on volume really is just a joke.

The same for finance. So I agree, auto makers should slow production. It will add also value for cars we already own.

Just hang in there. The closer the dealers get to the ending date of the event the more flexible they become if they have a lot of cars on their hands.
