2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible Spy Shots
Spy photos have emerged today showcasing the next variant of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, this time in a two-door hardtop convertible form. As may remember, Mercedes has chosen to drop the "CLK" moniker from its lineup, replacing it instead with the less confusing "E-Class Coupe"; so the model you're viewing is in essence the next version of the outgoing CLK convertible (despite being called an E-Class).

This time it is clearly mentioned that the car is based on the E-class. Then it is just right to call it an E-class convertible instead of the CLK which was a combination of C, CLK and E.

A 2 door e class with a HARD-TOP convertible, count me in. Finally, that stupid soft top shouldn't have even made it on the present CLK. I mean, they've had the hardtop technology since the 1st gen SLK. I think the outgoing CLK had a lot of short comings in my opinion. The only reason I wouldn't buy an SLK cause it has two seats. One of these puppies with the 5.5L V8 pushing 380+ hp, count me in. This looks very promising. *Sniff *Sniff... Finally, I smell a 6-series beater 
(the SL never counted IMO as a 6-series beater since the SL is in a WAY higher class, price wise, than the 6-series. The SL and CL are more like 911, Continental GT, Aston Martin, and Maserati competitors).

My dealer, MB of Coral Gables, confirmed the new E550 Coupe will be available this summer with the Cabrio/retracktable hardtop following June 2010 as a 2011 MY. I was told they will come out with 350 and 550 models.
They will start taking orders in about six months for the Cabrio and I will certianly be one of the first to sign up!
