Coolant Flush-Please Advise!

I have been advised by my service advisor that MB recommends flushing the coolant every two years or so. I have called few other MB dealerships to confirm since I have read on here that due to an additive it does not have to be changed until $150,000 or 10 years. I decided to go ahead and let them do it. As long as I keep on changing it every two years... I shall be fine? Anybody has any thoughts on this or should I be screaming and contacting MB how to get my car back to its initial state. Comments are appreaciated.

Are you sure they were not talking about brake fluid? Modern MB engines are rated for 15 years or 250 000 km for coolant change, in Europe at least.

BS. Coolant is rated for 15 years. It says so in your maintenance manual and the dealer is wrong and unethical.

In these economic times, dealers are trying to make it the best they can. As sales slow down, they're going after the service dollars. Beware.

I got a postcard from my dealer last week offering a coolant flush for $89. My car's delivery date was 8/25/06. Even GM doesn't recommend coolant for 5 years or 100K.

What's getting "flushed" is your wallet.
