Intake Options
Has anyone here found a way to put K&N (or equivalent brand) cone air filters onto their stock plastic intake piping? I'm not really interested in those big name brand full intakes systems, with the useless shiny piping.
I did a search and found alot of cautions on the MAF getting messed up from over-oiling. I've always used K&N in other cars and never over-oiled it, so I'm not concerned about that.
MORE: I also asked what I would need to do in order to not over oil the filter. Answer: Bring it in every 30 to 35.000 miles, we clean them for 20 bucks put them back in and if the MAF sensor or other parts would get bad b/c of the KN filters, they would have to pay for it.
Still a no-go???
Ive got a w210 e55 amg and did the same thing for about a month!!
Performance dropped BIG TIME and now i think ive got to get a new maf as its running S L O W!!! Ive got K+N panel filters on it now and its a little better but i really really wish i'd listened to everybody and just sticked with the stock filters!!!...gonna cost me around £300 to be put right!! def would not recomend it!!
Up to you though....

Sounds like you owned a Honda in the past????
I def don't want to rice out my MB or any other car, but am looking for performance mods. Is it simply "look at Kleeman, AMG, etc.?" Thanks in advance.

For chip, check out powerchip group. Just read someone in the W215 CL forum got one and he loves it. Exhaust there are many choices. AMG won't really give you performance, just looks and some sound. I liked Eisenmann the best.
