I think it was worth it---I got a smoking deal on the COMAND and amp.
This Luangtronic is amazing, I can voice dial by name in my phone book (w/o previously programming a voice tag) or say the name of street and town for the navi. Also the new HK amplification and tuning is waaay better sounding--
I gotta a lot of gains---Car had COMAND w/ HK and Navigation----I did upgrade to a Euro COMAND for DVD---no phone, no voice control
Now--COMAND, 6 disc DVD, Bluetooth phone, Navigation (w/ birdseye view), Luangtronic Voice control, HK
If you were paying for the labor, it would probably not be worth it, if you have the skill and can find the parts for a reasonable price DEFINITELY worth it---After I eventually sell the old COMAND, Navi, AGW, and CDC my out of pocket expense is not too high.
There are no softkeys----layout is like the S or C radios but w/o the central controller---you use the arrows to navigate

One question : On a W211 MY2007 originally with Audio20 NTG2.5 was retrofited this morning (using the Kabeldaviko cables)
Everything worked fine except that there is no sound coming out.
I suspect it could be the COMAND module was set-up for a car having a Harman Kardon kit, wich is not the case on my car.
The MB dealer tells me it is impossible to do anything.
Any idea what can be the problem and how it can be rectified ??

Reporting back to all , finally retrofit was successfull
So successfull a second one was carried out !!!
Retrofit was on W211s with Audio20CD.-
All needed NTG2.5 unit + Harness set from Kabeldaviko -
Straight forward plug and play -
No need for changing FM antenna or made active (as mentioned in some other thread -
Linguatronic is possible with additional hardware

my car is w211 2005, i managed to change my comand ntg1 to ntg2.5 but lost harman kardon logic 7 sound, my questions
1- what is part number of amplifier needed?
2- how do we code the ntg2,5 head unit to activate hk
3- the sms option in telephone menu is not active, how to activate it?
please help

i asked in other forum but did not get clear answer, i understood you could retrofit HK amplifier and activate hk,
my car is w211 2005, i managed to change my comand ntg1 to ntg2.5 but lost harman kardon logic 7 sound, my questions

You should look with stardiagnosis at the coding menu of the COMAND NTG 2.5
If no HK apmlifier exists There must stand > no Soundsystem<
You then change this parameter

P.S. You need the new type of HK amplifier - The old type which was combined with the AGW WILL NOT work

Time sync
Yes it synchronizes
When i finished installation of new comand the time zone was different from where i am, and so there was 1 hour difference between the comand and analog clock of instrument cluster,but it did not change it!!
As i remember, i entered time settings of comand and changed zone, and so both became same.
I got worried if it still syncs as before, so i entered settings again and tried to change time manually 10 min , and i was happy to see analog clock in instrument panel move.
