06/07 E350 sport tire recommendations?
I have an 06 E350 sport with the 18 inch wheels.
Im planning on purchasing a new set of rear tires (265/35/18). So far im debating between a few different choices.
Continental ContiSportContact 3
vs
Continental ContiSportContact 2 (stock tires)
vs
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
vs
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
would like to go with the pilot sport A/S plus due to the 45k mile warranty (none of the others come with any tread warranty) and price, but im unsure if its worth it.
What do you guys suggest? Anyone else with these rims change their tires with good (or bad) experiences?

Depends on your driving habits, etc.. The minute I bought my car (new) I dumped the AS Contis on them and put on a set of PS2. These have always been my tire of choice.
Whatever you do, don't mix tire brands (you posted that you need tires for the rear, what about the front?), unless you drive like Grandma.
I didn't know how they would do on the E350 suspension, but they have helped a lot. Coming from Bimmers and P-cars, I've discovered that the E Class is not a sports sedan, that's for sure. But the PS2s do help.
I've run Conti 2s on a 330i. Decent tires for the Bimmer but I can't say what they'd be like on a E350. I've heard that the Conti 3 has been designed to reduce noise and better in the wet. But I have no personal experience with the 3s. However, why get older 2s when the 3s are now available?
Don't forget that the Conti 3 and PS2 are useless in cold weather (they turn hard and slick below 30-40 F.) And expect around 15-20K life depending on how aggressive you drive.

I only considered the Continental 2's because thats what the car came with and I never had any problem with them. The continental 3's are probably equal or better for a smaller increase in price (probably worth it). Ive just always liked Michelin tires in general.
The car will never see snow (and rarely see rain even). I dont do too much spirited driving with it, its more that I want a tire to last me 30k miles instead of going bald around 15k. Do you think its worth the extra $100 for the Michelin sport PS2?

Well, I like them. But I do push the car once in a while. I doubt you could get 30K from them, however. Maybe.
If you're not driving hard and you live in a good climate, why not look at some Japanese tires. I've run the Falkens before, and they are less expensive and still sticky enough. Nittos, too. Wear isn't that great but they are cheaper. Look at the Yokohama S-Drive, too.
But in the end, AS tires are perfectly fine if you're not into flogging the car into the corners, and you'll get high mileage out of them, too.

I just put Nitto Invo's on mine.
Had the PS2's before. I can't really tell the difference in noise or traction, but...the tracking on freeway lines is gone!
245/40/18 front
275/35/18 rear <---do it
