paint/clear coat issue e class 2005

Unhappy paint/clear coat issue e class 2005
hey, i have a black 2005 e350.

i have noticed that there is a discoloration of the paint on the black metal trim below the windows and on the vertical metal part that is on the rear passenger windows. its almost like there is film on it but it does not rub off and looks chalky to like light reflecting on a soap bubble. i have looked at other similar mb's and they all have the same issue.

is this defective paint or clear coat? what can I do? the paint looks perfect on the rest of the car - only in these areas!!!!!

anyone see this too?

Are you the original owner? If not I would suspect some else repainted, and it was a bad job.

Put a coat of liquid wax on the black moulding. It should look good when you're done.
