Service C as first service??
Hi everyone. I've had my car since early July and the car indicated last week that I was due for Service A in 29 days. I took it to the dealership today and was told the system was not reset properly when I took delivery. (Someone forget to change it from production date (2/12/08) to the delivery date.) When I got back in my car after they did whatever they did, my car now indicates Service C due in 4800 miles. I talked to the service advisor and he said this is normal. Anyone know if this is indeed normal? It seems odd that my car would suddenly go from needing service A to service C, especially since what I've read indicates that service C is a more complex service.
Thanks.
Thanks.

A & B services alternate with additional work based on time & mileage elapsed see service 05-present https://mbworld.org/forums/2947437-post74.html - if reset properly your vehicle should be due for service A at 13000 miles or 1-year (whichever comes first) from delivery date.

I read over the service sheet konigstiger sent the link to. I see no service C on it and, quite frankly, am beyond confused as to what to do here. My service advisor tried to tell me that Service C is the same as Service A with some other things that should be performed and that my car has the FSS system. He tried to tell me that "my car knows best" what service it needs.
I'm at the point where I just don't feel comfortable with this dealership anymore. (They have screwed up more things on the car than they've fixed.) If someone can PLEASE tell me what the exact difference between Service C and Service A is, that would be great. Also, from reading konigstiger's reply, it sounds like my car should actually need Service A, not C.
Do you think this is a situation MB-USA should be made aware of? I just have a bad feeling the dealership's service department is trying to rip me off......

Well they alternate between A and B regardless of letter, and then with some other maintenance dependent on mileage. By all means write to MBUSA if you feel the dealer is incompetent.
