Help Mercedes Family! powered subwoofer

Hey everyone, I have a 2004 E320 with the command unit. I wanted to install a powered subwoofer, most likely the infinity basslink. Can I do this install myself? Ive done alot of searching through the forums, but cant find a thread that will give me step by step instruction. Your help and advice is much apprecaited. Thanks

Yes you can, But I just went to Best buy and they installed the basslink ll for $75. but if you want to yourself you need to run 2 RCAs from the front to the back and get an in line converter and a HI-LO converter as well.

No reason to run RCA cables to the front---AGW is in trunk in left wheel well----all the wires are there.

The AGW....is that the gateway? so I will be able to plug the rca's from the subwoofer to the AGW and then just grab the power and the ground from somewhere in the area. That sounds pretty easy. Thank guys. So all this is located in the trunk???

Yes, Mmartinez. Amp, battery, everything you need is in the trunk... I am considering getting an amp + sub for my 211 also. Let me know how your project goes, any tips would be great.

Hey Bahador, I more of a visual DIY....any chance you took pics of your install. My Eclass is an 04.... I dont think it has a harmon kardon system. Does that make a difference? Thanks

You dont need a harmon karmon sound system but what you really need is to expose some wires going to you speaker so you can connect to your line output converter..This was my hardest part of install..This is what your RCA cables connect to.I got one from pepboys for like 10 bucks..Do you have a sub in yur trunk at all?

Sorry and I have no pics for the install
