The car has to be ordered with phone wiring from the factory (certain Model Years it was included in the build) AND the dealer has to install a phone "kit" (a mounted phone plastic holster) attached to that prewiring in the console into which you snap your phone or a Bluetooth adapter.
It is not standard.

so the car has got the phone wiring in.
have just found what i think is the end of the wiring loom under the carpet 2 cables .
one looks like an aerial and the other a 10 core cable could this be it.
they have been cut off.

When i viewed the car at the dealer it had a cradle at the side of the console. but the dealer took it out
so the car has got the phone wiring in.

The MB phone system does usually use an antenna cable and a 10 wire harness but the W211 should not use a separate console for the phone (some older models did). Sounds like it had an after market phone kit.

Why did the dealer remove the cradle? If they were showing the car WITH the cradle then I would have expected it there when I purchase the car!
Was the cradle at the rear of the armrest? Also, if it was the standard install but now they have cut the wires that may be an issue ... not sure how far back you would need to go to replace the cut wires.
