Mercedes 2006 E350
Question 2006 E350 4matic, help.

Hey guys, just took my car into a Mercedes dealership to get serviced and it came back with this:
vWipers $50.00
vPlate bracket $120.00
vGrill on hood is broken $300.00
vCam plug is leaking $160.00
vTransmission conductor plug is leaking $212.00
vLeft under panel is missing $730.00
vRotate and balance $85.00
vBrake flush $170.00
vTransmission service $450.00

My question to you guys is what needs to be serviced immediately? It was the first time I serviced it since I just bought the car used 2 months ago, has 55,000 miles on it. Let me know guys!

As always the dealers are looking to make money .. some items don't look critical and you can get much better prices by finding a good indie shop near you.

Wipers can be found online for approx. $30 and you can put them on yourself.

Grill on hood? Is this the Star or the actual grill? What's wrong with it? Just a crack? Either of those are not required and again you can find them online much cheaper and simple to replace.

Left under panel? The wheelhouse lining? Or is this the belly pan? $730??? They must be crazy!

Brake flush price isn't outrageous but can be done for closer to $120 ..

Transmission service .. if that's a flush .. again find an indie shop and get it for half that price! How many miles on the car?

This car looks like it has not been maintained - each of those items in and of themselves aren't that big of a deal but taken together yes, they are costly - true, some of them can be had cheaper - the tires can be roatated usually from the place that sold the tires at no cost - the grill and bracket sounds like the front end got bashed in a parking incident - the flush is a normal maintenance item to be done at 39K - (brake) don't know about the transmission flush - cars cost money to maintain - this one at 55K is just getting caught up - whether it would have been a Lexus or MB it would have cost pretty much the same.

Check the service records. The transmission / transaxle flush should have been done at 39k per the book though some dealers have indicated that they wait until 52k. In any event it if it hasn't already been done then it needs to be done and unfortunately it is expensive the fluid is about 15/quart and if its flushed it takes around 14 quarts as I have been told.

Can't really say if the vehicle was maintained or not. The flush may have been done but not at the dealer.

Big question is what is the left under panel that costs over $700??? The engine covers are < $100 and they need to take it off anyway for a flush so they shouldn't be charging labor (even if they did what would it be? 15 minutes?)
