Replacing the dust filter (in the engine bay) the other day I noticed that the snap tabs on the housing were broken off. Must have been broken off when dealer replaced the last time as it's only been changed once.
Are the tabs critical to keeping the housing snug or does the housing itself when held in place with the screw nut provide enough pressure?
Just another reason I prefer to do many maintenance items myself .. dealers just want to do the job as quickly as possible!
