W211 Questions
I had a few questions for the W211 owners, please.
1) As a W210 owner, I've gotten sort of used to the 722.6 transmission, quirks and all. I'm wondering how the positives stack up against the negatives when comparing the 722.6 with the newer 7-speed. I did read that you can't do fluid changes yourself with the 7-speed, which would be a negative for me, if that's true.
2) Which cars (years, models, option packages) come with coil-spring suspension (rather than Airmatic)? My understanding is all V8 cars come with Airmatic, and some 6 cylinder cars do. Does the Sport Package give you Airmatic on the 6 cylinder cars?
3) The car in the photo has ground-effects or skirting on the rocker panels, etc. Which cars came with this? (years, models, option packages)
Thanks a lot guys -

2. The airmatic was offered on V6's as an option from 2003-2005. It came with the appearance package (which I have). This option gives you HIDs, LED tails, body kit, black wood, blue glass, etc (very worth it IMO). The amg sport package doesn't give you airmatic, it gives lower coil over with amg body kit and rims (not really worth it IMO). Yes, all V8's come with airmatic.
3. The car in the picture has appearance package. This is between 2003-2005.
