Dyno'd my car today...

My car is bone stock minus AMG mufflers... best run was:

235.6hp @ 4846rpm
297.80tq @ 3067rpm

I had some issues at first completely forgetting about putting the car in dyno mode. Once I got it figured out it was 3 runs on the Dynapack. Horsepower seems a tad bit low and torque seems 20 lbs too high.

All in all a good day and nice to meet some fellow Vancouver MBZ enthusiasts

I'll post my graph tomorrow at work (no scanner at home)
Has anyone dyno'd with a Dynapack? If so, how do they compare with Mustang/Dynojet?

my W211 E350 4Matic did 191 whp w/ a cat-back exhaust I'd love to get it up to your stock 500 hp that'd be great, not that far off either. Good work thanks for the info.

Using the universally agreed upon drive train loss of our cars of 18%, this puts your car at 235.6/.82=287.3hp and 297.80/.82=363.17 tq at the crank.

Numbers do seem off. Did you dyno in 5th gear? That's the final drive gear on our 7sp cars. Also, area these SAE corrected numbers?

**EDIT**

Forgot you had the 2003 with a 5speed. What gear did you dyno in?

They dynoed in 4th...

I'm not sure if it's SAE corrected numbers but i'll try to find out. To be honest I was a little skeptical of the Dynapack which requires the removal of the rear wheels. This isn't your typical drive on, strap down and run it setup.

Does my graph look normal?

**EDIT**
Actually I wonder if 277-278 tq is the right number? According to factory specs we achieve 339 crank torque at 2700 RPM...

crank Tq <> wheel Tq

339 * 0.82 (18% drivetrain loss) = 278.

I'd say that is BANG ON.

LOL I was say not so nice. Jikjak dynoed at 455 +/- HP at the wheels with his CLS55 that same day. It became pretty obvious that i should stick with all show no go ;-)

Yeah, I get the same inferiority complex when I go to dyno days and track events. I try to make myself feel better by telling everyone that I have the the quickest N/A E500 in the country. That is, until someone proves me wrong.

a dynojet will be the most acurate of them all. the mustang dynos most of the time are a little high.

That does seem like major drivetrain loss in the HP area. IMO it would make sense to get those numbers if your car was a 4-Matic?

Also those torque numbers do seem abnormally high. Some Dyno's just work differently than others and show different results.

Has anyone Dynoe'd a non 4-Matic E350? A 268 HP car should be dynoing at over 225 HP to the wheels.
