Climate Control Zones Not Working

I saw a post about a similar issue regarding front and rear zones. My issues is with my '03 E500 not making cold air on the driver's side, while the passenger side is a meat locker?

Is this a Changeover/Heater Control Valve issue?

Could be a couple of things. One is a bad thermostat or temp sensor and the other could be a bad air door or flap that is not assuming the position it should be in for the temp set. My thoughts are that since the thing is complicated have it diagnosed by a dealer.
