07 E550 pumping noise
I did a search and it does not seem like a airmatic noise?
This sound is like a "pump" and fan noise coming on and staying on for around 30 seconds. sometimes it stays on for 10 or 5. It also sounds like a fan has been turned on.
The sound comes from the front driver side. you cannot hear as much from passanger side.
any input will be aprreciated

stop lamp switch activation meaning when i hit the brakes?
it comes on throughout the whole drive. From home to work and work to home is around 20-25 minutes. is that normal for it to be on the whole time?

As previously indicated, if it's coming from the left driver's side, it's the AirMatic pump for the suspension. I had mine replaced recently under the warranty and the new one even makes the pumping noise........operates periodically. It's kind of annoying but not much you can do about it other than there's a Technical Bulletin to install a dampening device that helps a little.
