Help, dripping brown stuff!

Very odd substance, dripping from the engine compartment. The fluid seems to be thick brown water based liquid. And the oddest thing, it seems to be coming from the left engine mount. All the drips originate somewhere near or below that engine mount. What the heck???

This is happening on my 2005 E320 CDI, 47K miles. I recently had performed and oil change, fuel filter change and also had the dealer do the transmission fluid. But this brown fluid isn't oil, because I can rinse it off my hand easily. It ain't antifreeze, because that has an distinct odor and feel. And it not brake fluid either. Very weird fluid.

But what strikes me, is why would the source be the engine mount???

Dont worry ... Its most likely your engine mount, our cars have liquid-filled mountings that leak when worn-out, its time to change it out. I'd change all out and just get over with it

As our mounts start to age and wear out the engine vibration slowly starts to be felt in the whole car. As it happens slowly we never seem to notice. However after replacing both mounts at once,(highly recommended.) you will be shocked at how much smoother the car seems.
