Version coding price
Curious about what you all who installed puckw/tail were charged for it to be version coded at the dealer?

First time was free at the independent I do business with, gave the tech $30 tip. When I reprogrammed the complete loop to include the Nav, cost me $90, but they did take a while, since I had changed my AGW, I guess they had some issues finding all the stuff or something like that. $40 to $90 should be your range.

Don't let them cheat you!
After installing my Navigation processor in my trunk, the navigation system was already working properly. However, my understanding was the MOST ring might have problem with error code in the future. Also the message readout between the speedometer and clock was not showing the turn prompts from the navigation units. So, I had my MOST ring and the center display re-programmed to be sure everything is proper.
I brought it to the local MB dealer and the "advisor" estimate $170, but he told me the technician will only charge for the time actually spent on the job. Well, he was wrong, the technician went ahead and put down the full $170. From previous post in this forum, the programming job was only suppose to take 45 minutes. At $90/hr, they are charging me closer to 1 hour and 45 minutes. So don't let the "advisor" give you a high estimate, because the technician will charge the whole amount whether or not he/she really needed that long to complete the job. Good Luck!
