I love my E but lately I've been craving something more sporty ....
Came accross a c55 with under 20k miles for 29 grand (2005) ...... I hate the C though, but the 5.5 litre motor is like a wolf in sheep skin.. what do you guys think ? Would I miss the w211 ? MPG would bite too ...

I personally never really liked the w203, regardless of whether it was an AMG or standard MB. I owned one for 2 years and sold it because I hated it. They are loud, poorly made, fairly ugly unless you spend $$$$$$ buying nice clean upgrades. I agree with efan ... save your money and get a E55/63, you will love it that much more that you will sleep in it. That is just my opinion, please no hate mail w203ers lol.

Yeah don't do it, the W203 is an older body style and platform, not to mention the W211 being arguably M-B's best designed and refined/engineered Sedan of that '00-'06 generation.
If you want something more powerful, I'd say definitely go for an E55 over the C55, sure it'll be more money, but with the current used market you can take advantage of great deals on those cars, and it's an entirely different beast than the C55.

. I love the W220, and loved the one I had, but think M-B nailed it with the 211.
