Adding Numbers to Phone Book in Command
I just bought my wife a cell phone with Bluetooth and added the MHI module (which I bought on Ebay rather than paying the dealer $493), but her phone is not on the Mercedes "approved" list for Bluetooth (Motorola W376G). So, while it still works, her contacts do not transfer to the Command screen.
Is there a way to just manually add phone numbers and names to the Command screen directly? I checked the Command manual and didn't find any way of doing this.
Thanks.

This is about the 2008 E-class? I only have the 2005 E-class Comand manual but it does talk about the phone book feature. I assume it does support BT too, at least on my NTG4 Comand I can send the whole phone book from my phone over bluetooth on one go. Comand then recognises the names for incoming calls and you can also dial from the Comand phone book.

There is no manually entry for phonebook list. What software is your bluetooth puck (it is printed on bottom label). 09/08 is the newest software available, if yours is older than that try having your dealer update the software. I have seen A LOT of "non-compatable" phones work fine....and the newest software has a broader compatability range.....

Unfortunately the 2008 has the older style command which does not allow for a stored "phonebook". Basically your phonebook is taken directly off your cell phone via the bluetooth puck. Unlike the 2009+ models that have an actual hard drive to store your numbers.
