cls55 vs e55

I know the performance is basically the same, but does anyone know the interior size difference. Which is bigger, roomier, and how about those back seats in the cls ? Room enough for 2 car seats?

Trunk comparison would be nice too.

Thanks

I don't know exact dimensions, but know the E will have a roomier interior, definitely more headroom in the rear too. I'm sure car-Seats can fit back there in the CLS obviously.

Trunk space I don't know, but will assume the E. The E has a more proper Sedan, airy-er interior, the CLS has a more Coupe/Sport approach.

I'm sure the CLS will fit two car seats. Check on the bottom of the backrest of the seats for these two buttons with a pic of a car seat on them. Our 02 CL500 has them.

The E is bigger, the CLS has a shorter roof line. Have fun putting the kids back there That's what will happen to your head

J/k bro. I think the CLS would be faster due to better aerodynamics because of the body (I mean it's pretty much the same car actually).

Is the CLS more aerodynamic than an E? It obviously gives that illusion, but the E's Drag Coeff. is .27 which if I'm not mistaken, is rarely beaten (was actually the best Drag Coef. of any production Sedan ever when the W211 first came out).

Actually, I'm pretty sure the opposite is true. For whatever reason, most of the literature I've seen puts the E55 as a faster car than the CLS55. I know they have the same engine and all, but I believe the E is a quicker/faster ride....

Perhaps it's lighter?

You should ask this question on the AMG forum. You'll get lots of responses.
[edit] here, try this: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...me-decide.html

fwiw, my next door neighbor has a CLS63. It's tight in the back because of the roofline. And it's hard to see out of it (blind spots for the driver) But it's a much more 'sporty' and chiseled look, if that's what is your priority. The banana roof is more aggressive looking and popular. And it's got a really quiet cabin on the freeway.

It's really a four door coupe.

Check Edmunds online, etc.. They'll have a spec comparison of the two.

Well then, I'm actually happier if the E is faster . I like the E better.

From the front seat they are nearly identical..prob couldn't tell the difference if it was your first time looking at both front interiors..the back however goes to the w211..it has wayy more room..and extra seating..the cls has the armrest in the middle back there so that eliminates a third person..also the cls roofline is shorter..you will def hit you head up there a couple of times.. By car seats...do u mean for the infants?..if so they would fit both cars..but it might make it harder for you to put infant in the cls because of the shorter cls line..trunk is nearly identical as well.
